Lee Daniels

The Sean Penn lawsuit against Lee Daniels is gaining some traction.

The Empire creator wanted to take their case to federal court, but he decided against it and paid Penn’s legal fees. The case will now take place at a New York state court.

According to Deadline:

While no dollar amount was given, sources tell me that the payment by Daniels was for Penn’s legal fees, as the Oscar winner’s primary attorney Mathew Rosengart requested on October 22. A proposed order to Judge Edgardo Ramos was submitted today as well (read it here) formally moving the matter back to the N.Y State courts.

This all comes after Penn filed a defamation lawsuit due to comments Daniels made in an interview about Penn’s alleged abuse toward his then-wife, Madonna.

Take a look at Soulja’s confidence: “As of now Soulja Boy is sure to land a deal soon. Soulja Boy is the next big thing to arise in the Hip Hop Scene. Only being 15 years old of age and accomplished this much.” It’s worth an entire read.
