Ride Along 2 has finally dethroned Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the number one movie in America by pulling in $35 million its opening weekend. The action comedy starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart fell just short of Ride Along‘s opening weekend of $41 million back in 2014.

Thanks to its many Oscar noms, The Revenant continued to do numbers at the box office, making $29 million, while Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi came in at number four with just around $16 million.

Netflix’s hit documentary series Making A Murderer continues to bring attention to the case of Steven Avery. In a recent interview with CBS This Morning, Dean Strang, one of Avery’s lawyers, admits he has some doubts about his innocence. Via Us Weekly:

“Sure, absolutely,” Strang replied when one of the hosts asked if he and co-counsel Jerry Buting think Avery could possibly be guilty. “And if it was OK to convict people on maybes, I wouldn’t be worried about this, but it’s not.”

But that’s not to say Strang is convinced the convict is guilty either. “I’m not convinced of his guilt. I’m not at all convinced of his guilt, never have been.”

The docu-series is streaming on Netflix now.

Tracy Morgan and family visit Walt Disney World July 2

Following the car accident that almost took his life, Tracy Morgan says his daughter is a major reason he was able to start walking again. EW reports:

“That’s the reason why I survived, for [my daughter] – for her and my wife,” Morgan said to his former Saturday Night Live costar Jimmy Fallon on Monday’s Tonight Show. And it was through his daughter that Morgan found the strength to walk again.

“I remember, I was in that wheelchair, and she was 14 months, and I’d seen her take her first steps, and that inspired me to get out of the wheelchair and take my first steps,” Morgan said.

Idris Elba is speaking out after fans and commentators claimed he was snubbed at the Oscars this year after his stellar performance in Beasts Of No Nation. While addressing the British Parliament, Elba said change is coming, just very slowly.

“People in the TV world often aren’t the same as people in the real world. And there’s an even bigger gap between people who make TV, and people who watch TV,” he said. “I should know, I live in the TV world. And although there’s a lot of reality TV, TV hasn’t caught up with reality. Change is coming, but it’s taking its sweet time.”

PBS announced on Monday that it would premiere a Hamilton episode of its Great Performances series next fall. (You’re just going to have to wait for it.)

The documentary has been filming in all the rooms where Hamilton has happened since 2013, and will chart the evolution of the smash musical.
