Marvin Gaye, the Motown recording artists whose smooth voiced captured millions in the 80’s would’ve turned 74 today!  Marvin died in Los Angeles on April 1, 1984 one day before his 45th birthday, after suffering a gunshot wound to his chest. Gaye’s father was arrested after the shooting where he pleaded no contest.

In his long career Marvin won several Grammy and American Music awards.  He also one several NAACP awards. At the peak of his career Gaye released a song called “Let’s Get It On” and “Sexual Healing.”  He was also gaining attention for his hit duet with Tammi Terrell for “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”  Even after his death, his music continues to influence many people.
