After NFL executives claimed no one from the organization saw the Ray Rice elevator tape, Associated Press broke a contrasting story. An unnamed law enforcement official told AP the clip was sent to an NFL executive back in April. The NFL has hired former FBI director Robert Mueller to conduct an “independent” investigation into how the league handled evidence in the Ray Rice case. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell says Mueller will have full access to NFL records relating to the case. The probe will be overseen by Giants owner John Mara and Steelers owner Art Rooney.
