Yup, Beyonce’s baby sis has indeed tied the knot. Solange Knowles, 28, married video director Alan Ferguson, 51 in New Orleans on Sunday in front of 200 family and friends, according to People.com.
Rumors of the impending marriage trickled out a few days ago and surprisingly most details were right – according to reports, Solange and Alan Ferguson did begin the weekend with a screening of Mahogany, the Diana Ross movie that they saw on their first date.
Ferguson, a nativer of Richmond, Virginia, has directed videos for both Jay-Z and Beyonce including “Party” and “Dance For You.” He directed Jay’s “Feelin’ It” video and recently directed “Primetime” for Janelle Monae from her The Electric Lady album.
The duo held the screening at Indywood Cinema whose owner said the pre-wedding event was adorable.
The pair married at Maringy Opera House, arriving around 2 p.m on vintage white bicycles. Her bouquet of white roses was on the bike’s basket.
Solange wore a white caped jumpsuit with a loose ‘fro and Ferguson wore a white suit without a tie. Beyonce, Jay-Z, Blue Ivy, Solange and Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles and singer Janelle Monae were among the attendees.
This is the second marriage for Solange Knowles. Her 10-year-old son Juelz is the product of her first marriage to producer Daniel Smith.
“Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago,” Solange said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar earlier this year. “My love life has been stable for a while. It’s a f–cked up thing … without conflict it’s a lot harder to write interesting songs.”
