‘How To Change My Vote’ Searches Spike in States Won By Donald Trump
Now a lot of things increased after the election results came in. Sales for morning after pills went up, the stock market saw a surge, and it seems a lot of voters in red states had a big question.
On Election Day, voters in states that went for Trump suddenly flooded Google with one big question—“How do I change my vote?” Yep, you heard right! As soon as those results started rolling in, people wanted a redo. Searches spiked early on election day then dipped as the day went on, only to pop back up again two days later. Crazy!
Well Google Trends assigns a value between 0 and 100 to search volumes based on the total number of searches during a given period. According to the data, on the morning of November 5 at 7 a.m., the “how to change my vote” search maxed out at 100.
Trump won states like Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Nebraska, and Alabama saw high how to change my vote searches. Even some tight-race states like Arizona and Wisconsin jumped on the bandwagon.
But no do overs when it comes to voting. So now look what you done did.
