THE BUZZ!

Several Maryland leaders Senators and Congress members are stepping inside the George H. Fallon Federal Building in Baltimore after some serious claims were made about how people are being treated inside.

Now there is a new federal class-action suit .Attorneys are arguing that two women were held in “inhumane” conditions. One for 60 hours, the other 48, which is a violation of ICE policy.

After an earlier visit this year, two U.S. Senators wrote to Homeland Security about what they saw. Including detainees being kept way longer than ICE’s own rules allow.a facility that’s simply not equipped to meet basic needs. We’re talking overcrowding, no beds, inadequate food, and no medical staff on site..

Meanwhile, ICE has denied the allegations. Saying, the Baltimore location is not a detention center. It’s just a holding room. So it’s not held to the same standards.

By that logic, holding rooms don’t have to meet basic standards. And ICE policies just don’t apply there.

We’ll keep eyes on this as more comes out.
