The multiple tragedies of a Trump-nominated judge’s sexual misconduct
What would cause a judge with a job for life appointment, quit.
Here’s the deal:
Alaska judge named Kindred just resigned after some serious accusations came to light. Back in 2019, Kindred got nominated to be a judge by then president Trump. During his confirmation hearing, a senator asked him a key question: any history of sexual harassment? he said no.
Fast forward to today, and Kindred only in his 40’s just quit his lifetime judge job. Turns out, his two sentence resignation letter came the same day a bunch of evidence was released suggesting he created a bad work environment for his assistants and even had an inappropriate relationship with one.
Kindred never admitted to anything, but the evidence paints a different picture. We’re talking lots of inappropriate conversations and even some physical contact that didn’t seem welcome.
This whole situation raises a big question: did his views on women and sex affect his rulings on cases? It seems like he never even let a sexual harassment claim go to trial.
