Breaking community rallies around Australian Olympian whose kangaroo hop failed to impress judges

Keeping it with the Olympic Games. Women are a hot topic with their winning performances. But there was one woman who was also dominating for the totally opposite reason. I’m talking about the Australian B-girl named RayGunn , whose performance in the break dance competition at the Olympic games was should we say – very original.
Rachel Gunn aka RayGun, qualified for the Olympics by winning a Breaking Championship. She ended up representing her country Australia in the first ever breaking competition. And she chose to do something a little different.

She told reporters, “I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best, the dynamic and the power moves. So I wanted to move differently, be artistic and creative because how many chances do you get that in a lifetime to do that on an international stage.”

Moves including a kangaroo hop to what seemed like the curly shuffle from the three stooges, she completed her routines. But unfortunately you can’t score big for sprit and she ended up not getting at least one point from any of the judges. She scored a zero.
But she did score big with the socials. Her performance video has gone viral and the 36 year old who has a Ph.D. in cultural studies, has been getting a lot of attention. Including shout outs from stars like Adele and even a lot of love and support from the breakdancing community.
Unfortunately Breaking is not part of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. So we won’t see her on the Olympic stage until possibly 2032.
