Transplant donor wakes up on operating table as doctors prepare to remove his heart in nightmare scenario: witnesses
You can fall asleep and have a nightmare. But in this case you can wake up and be in one, a living nightmare.
In a shocking incident at a Kentucky hospital, a transplant donor woke up right as doctors were about to remove his heart.
So a patient was declared brain-dead by doctors after an overdose. Then tests were done to see if his organs were worth harvesting.
Well one staff member whose job it was to preserve the organs told media outlets that when he was being wheeled in he seemed very much alive. She added that he was moving around — kind of thrashing. Adding that, “when we went over there, you could see he had tears coming down. He was crying visibly.”
That stopped two doctors from carrying on with the procedure.
But then its gets even more twisted as its alleged that a coordinator for (KODA) the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates at the time called a supervisor to find another doctor who could perform the procedure.
Well, officials from KODA have denied that any member of their organization instructed doctors to proceed with an organ harvesting operation on a living patient.
Now Kentucky’s state attorney general, the federal Health Resources and Services Administration are reviewing the incident.
Meanwhile the patient has made a huge recovery but is still dealing with some memory, walking and talking issues.
